The Warm Up: Testing Logistics, Witnessing History, and Brushing Shoulders with Michelle Kang

Ahead of our official launch, we’ve been out in the wild doing what we do best—scouting matchday logistics, testing out travel routes, and checking out stadium infrastructures to make sure our future trip-goers get the absolute best, most seamless away-day experience.

This past weekend, our scouting duties took us to the London City Lionesses.

First of all, a massive thank you to the team at LCL for hosting us! shoutout to Jack Walkling! From the moment we arrived until the final whistle, the club's hospitality and matchday setup were absolutely top-tier. They even kindly gave us access to a hospitality box, which had us looking at each other like, “Wait, how on earth did we manage to pull this off? Do they know we’re just two women's football nerds running a startup in our spare time? Let's just sit down and act natural before they throw us out.”

To top off a fantastic day of "research," we got to witness literal history on the pitch.

The Pride secured a thrilling, come-from-behind, final-day 2-1 win to seal an incredible 6th-place finish in their debut season. With that win, LCL now officially hold the record for the highest points position for a newly promoted team in their very first season in the WSL!!! The growth, ambition, and sheer level of professionalism on display are a testament to exactly where elite women's sport is heading. oh and those Alexia Putellas rumours were starting to circle... what a signing this would be if comes off!!

🤫 Okay, official business update over. Now for what actually happened...

If you know anything about us, you know that our ultimate, number-one, write-it-in-a-burn-book icon is Michelle Kang. Her visionary leadership and massive investment into women’s football and the wider women’s sports ecosystem is legendary. Ultimate startup goal? Just to be on her radar one day.

Cut to literally five minutes after kick-off. We are sitting in our posh box, sipping a drink (just a half pint as we are professional you know.., ) when a presence walks behind us.

We turn around. It’s Michelle. Actual Michelle Kang. Standing (well eventually sitting) right there.

Internal panic immediately set in. She is the ultimate boss. Surely we can’t speak to her now? We haven't even officially launched yet! What would we even say? Our elevator pitch isn't completely nailed!

Naturally, right at half-time, Heather left to pop to the bathroom, leaving Corinne alone to face destiny. Walking toward the door to head back inside, Corinne found herself arriving at the exact frame of the doorway at the exact same time as Michelle.

Come on, Corinne... this is your chance. Make it count. strike up a conversation..

The master plan was executed as follows:

1. Open the door.

2. Hold it open with maximum politeness.

3. Execute a friendly nod to insist Michelle go first.

4. Attempt to say "Hi Michelle" without squeaking like a dolphin.

The result? Michelle warmly smiled and returned a hello.

Boom. Smashed it. Pretty sure we are best friends forever now, Michelle. Expect an invite to our next trip!!
