If you’ve ever gone to an England Women's away match and had a seamless, safe, and brilliant experience, chances are the FSA and the Free Lionesses had a hand in it. They do an incredible job supporting fans up and down the country, making sure the actual heartbeat of football—the people in the stands—are heard, respected, and looked after.

Our mission at Football TravelHER is deeply rooted in our own history as supporters. Having followed WSL teams and the Lionesses globally, we know firsthand that fan protection isn't just a nice-to-have—it is the absolute lifeline of the away-day experience. In fact, we’ve been witnessing the vital work of the FSA and Free Lionesses from the terraces for years:

  • Sharing the Pre-Match Nerves: We’ve stood side-by-side with the FSA team, sweating out the pre-match anxiety in Nice during the 2019 World Cup and across St Gallen and Basel for the 2025 Switzerland Euros.

  • The Great Sydney Ticket Crisis of 2023: Our commitment to fan safety became incredibly personal during the 2023 World Cup in Sydney. Co-Director Heather found herself locked out of her UEFA ticketing app outside the stadium (cue absolute panic- weve travelled the world for this game and we are going to have to listen from outside the stadium!!). Thankfully, Deborah from the Free Lionesses stepped in like a tech-savvy superhero to resolve the crisis and get her through the turnstiles.

That exact moment reinforced the absolute necessity of a dedicated safety net for travelers—a value we are fiercely committed to upholding as we launch our pilot 2026-27 season.

A Massive Shoutout to Debs! 📣

This brings us to a huge, glittering shoutout to Deborah Dilworth (Debs) at the FSA.

Debs is an absolute force in the football community, which means her schedule is usually packed to the absolute brim. Yet, she took actual time out of her insane day to sit down, listen to our wild plans, and look through our proposal. Not only did she give us invaluable advice, but she kindly put us in contact with other incredible people across the industry.

The Ultimate Dream: Hey FA, Call Us Maybe? 📞

Learning from the FSA has only made us hungrier for what’s next. We are putting it out into the universe (and directly into the inboxes of anyone who will listen): We would absolutely love to work with the FA.

Our goal is to make top-flight women's football accessible to everyone. We want to be the go-to team sending fans to support the Lionesses, no matter where the game takes them. We're talking:

  • Local Home Fixtures: Packing out stadiums right here on home soil.

  • The Nations League: Navigating those tense, high-stakes European clashes.

  • The Euros: Turning European host cities into a sea of fans.

  • The World Cup: Taking groups on ultimate, bucket-list journeys across the globe.

We know how much work goes into making these tournaments unforgettable for supporters, and we want to help bridge that gap, working alongside brilliant organizations like the FSA to make travel sustainable, safe, and ridiculously fun.
