They say the biggest hurdles in football are mental, and it turns out building a business is exactly the same. After that initial "lightbulb moment," we didn’t just dive in head-first. Instead, we spent a month doing deep-dive research, quietly gathering our courage and—if we’re being honest—trying to find a reason why we shouldn’t do it.

We eventually booked in a Saturday together to sit down, look each other in the eye, and go through the brutal pros and cons of setting up this business.

Now, you have to understand something about us: Heather and I both sit firmly on the ‘low risk’ side of life. When it comes to financial matters, we are cautious, calculated, and careful. (Though we both admit that short-notice international football trips are the one glorious exception where the budget goes out the window!)

The fear was genuine. We were looking at a commitment to self-fund the first 12–18 months while juggling our demanding day jobs. We knew it would mean frequent late nights, lost weekends, and a mountain of work to get everything ready for the 2026/27 season launch.

But as we sat there, we had a "now or never" moment. We’re getting to an age where the "what ifs" start to feel heavier than the "oh gods." We decided right then that we would much rather live with it failing and knowing we gave it a proper go, than spend the next twenty years wondering if we could have made it work and supported the continued growth of this game we love.

So, we took the first formal step: Companies House registration.

On 9th November 2025, Football TravelHER became REAL.

And just like that, we are officially Co-Directors. It’s a title that is equally exciting and scary as hell. We’ve moved from the stands to the technical area, and while we might be nervous, we’re ready for the challenge.

The whistle has officially blown. We’re doing this!
