If you asked a business guru what the first critical step of a global startup is, they’d probably say "market analysis" or "financial forecasting." If you ask us? It was playing with colors, pictures, and fonts for three weeks straight. Honestly, how are we not millionaires already?
We must have gone back and forth 250+ times with different ideas for our logo and name font. Looking back at some of those early drafts… well, let’s just say some were truly awful.
Eventually, we landed on our signature look: a vibrant turquoise on a black background, paired with what we hope is a clever globe-meets-football image to highlight the travel aspect. And, of course, we can’t forget the AMAZING wordplay of TravelHER. Wordplay master level 100 achieved.
We were told by people much cooler than us that the turquoise “pops.” We aren’t exactly "down with the kids," so this was news to us, but we’ll take it! Our actual aim was to choose a color that stood out but didn't accidentally align us with a specific club. We intentionally stayed away from the common reds and blues to keep things neutral.
We felt we had absolutely nailed this strategy... and then London City Lionesses joined the WSL and, well... oh. We match.
Oh well—if you’re going to accidentally twin with anyone, it might as well be a great club doing incredible work in the women's game. And let’s be honest, their home shirt really does "pop."
After far too long debating hex codes and font weights, we finally made an actually strategically important decision for the success of Football TravelHER: we brought in a professional design house to build our website. This is the truly critical bit—it’s where you, our customers, will go to find your next adventure and book your trips.
Thankfully, we chose SeeGreen, a company based right near us in York, England. As part of the larger website design phase, they took our "poor" logo and font attempts and polished them into the professional brand you see today. Huge shoutout to the team at SeeGreen for turning our vision into reality!
